The key debates raised in the resource are, one, that there is little to no representation of the disabled community in graphic design and advertising showing different case studies proving that. As well as, starting the debate on how we should create a community that allows learning and acceptance.

How has this resource influenced your understanding of graphic design history?

This resource showed me that there's a lot to the graphic design history that I don't know and that there are a lot of ways to improve the industry. The case study of stock photography websites like thinkstock.com includes only .001% of disabled people and then it has been created a disability-exclusive stock images website called PhotoAbility.net showing that graphic design is learning and including, even though it is little by little.

Has this resource present any issues that have affected how you perceive the graphic design industry? Is there anything that you have learnt from this resource that you might be able to apply to your work as a graphic designer?

The reference raised to my attention that the graphic design industry is flawed without the full representation of all communities and it has a need for change and equality, which will therefore change how disabled people are viewed in society. This is definitely something I will aim to apply to my future work. Thinking of inclusiveness and changing the focus of how the disabled are seen as weak and broken to them being seen as ordinary people.

Are there any questions that you would like to ask the author of the resource you have chosen?

Lastly, the question I would like to ask the author of the resource is: As a non-disabled person when designing for disabled people of for everyone community that I am not included in for that matter, I am always "scared" to offend or upset anyone from that said community. What is your view on that and how can designers lose that fear in order to include everyone?
