I struggled with finding who to write for, as I had chosen to do this task in a graphics book I recently purchased called Made in North Korea by Nicholas Bonner that showcases a collection of graphic products from North Korea and its anonymous designers. However, during the lecture on the 2nd of March with Dr. Danah Abdulla, she hinted that we should choose a designer or design within our culture, as it might be insensitive to design for a culture that isn't yours. I panicked.

So, therefore, I decided to do two pieces of writing one for the Made in North Korea book and one for a Portuguese designer named Inês Ayer and how she created the whole packaging design for dot.pt, which is basically Portugal's Amazon and how incredibly rare are Portuguese female designers.

Afterward, as I was researching I found Koryo studio a western art gallery - and one of the founders Nicholas Bonner- for whose mission is to support artists and designers from North Korea. Commissioning North Korean artists to work and giving them opportunities to exhibit their work outside of the DPRK. As it has nothing to do with culture but yes with the artists and designers of North Korea I decided to write about this studio only.
